The Interview
Well, I got to interview for my job today. (Should I be excited about this?) Nikke was very nice. She agreed that the situation is very messed up. She said that she knew what was happening on Monday, but she couldn’t really call us until someone told Camille. She wanted Camille to have the opportunity to talk with us first.
The meeting went well, I guess. We discussed how we opperate at Elektra, what I do and what Jesse, Joey and Grant do. It seems that I currently have a role that is a mixture of 2 individuals at Atlantic. I am not sure what that will mean. It will probably depend on how the dept is positioned. Right now the Atlantic New Media Dept does not report to Marketing and they are responsible for Lava Records. It is unclear if the department will be responsible for 3 labels (Elektra, Atlantic and Lava) or just one. I also asked her a lot of questions. I wanted to know her vision for the future and how she forsaw the department running. It is still a game of wait and see at this point.
