What A Day
Today I found out that the big layoff will happen tomorrow and I will not be offered a job. Unfortunately, this caught me off guard because I thought I would be offered a demotion-type gig, which I wouldn’t want nor in the end even take. While I guess this is only a minor detail in which the outcome is still the same, I really was not expecting this news. In fact, I was still hoping that I might somehow pull off a promotion. I am upset at the moment, but I will be fine in a couple of days. I guess it is time to start acting on plan B.
This week’s marketing meeting was held tonight, downtown at the Gas Lantern. There was a pretty good turn out. It is amazing the number of people who will be let go tomorrow. Knowing that I will be among those relieved from duty, doesn’t it seem a little weird that I still have to get up and go to work? Also, I wonder who will have to deliver the news. If it is anyone other than Brian or Camille, I may simply go postal. Oh, and just for the record, Lyor, some day I will crush you in the most polite, civilized way humanly possible. Consider yourself warned.
Unfortunately, I also just realized that I lost my cell phone on the way home tonight. Great. Can’t wait til tomorrow.
