About Sam Gomez

This is my lil' workshop on the web. I created it to let my friends and family know what's going on with me. It quickly became a place for me to rant about my feelings and publicly humiliate myself - not that I needed yet another medium. Generally, I just share whatever is on my mind (stories, photos, etc.) Read the full about me.

Day #9: Sensory Overload. Sensory Overload.

Today we crammed several weeks of sights into one day. First, we visited the 93,533 acre Petrified Forrest/Painted Desert National Park. We were there at 8:30 to begin the 28-mile drive through the park where numerous plant and animal fossils have been found. Yes, even dinosaur fossils! We probably stopped 20 times along the way [...]

Day #8: From Space Colonization to Trees Turned to Stone

Pauly Shore ain’t got nothin on me! This morning, on our way out of Tucson, we decided to swing by the Biosphere 2 site. We hadn’t originally planned to take a tour of the facility, but it seemed to good to miss once we got there. Built in the late 1980s with $150 million in [...]

Day 07: Day of the Cactus

Today was another fun filled day. Since we didn’t make it as far as I had intended yesterday, we had to start the day off with a very long drive. On our way through the desert to Sierra Vista, we passed this luscious green orchard. It was so out of place, we had to stop [...]

Day #6: They Didn’t Come Get Me

This morning we went to the International UFO Museum & Research Center in Roswell, NM. If you’ve never heard about it, you can read about the Roswell incident at iufomrc.com. After a couple hours at the museum and gift shop, we headed west. We had originally hoped to make it all the way to Sierra [...]

Day #5: There’s A Town in Texas Named After Me!

Who knew? This afternoon, on the way from Dallas to Roswell, we stopped in Gomez, TX. I think only one family lives there, but I never would have guessed they would have named their town after me. They don’t even know me!
It has been brought to my attention that my lack of rest caused me [...]

Road Trip Day #3: LITTLE (sam) ROCK

After spending the night in the trucker’s motel, we headed to Dane Venable’s hometown of Lilttle Rock, AR. We walked through the Arkansas Historic Museum. Then, we took a walk around town. We saw riverside park, where there was a literary festival, a latino festival and a farmers market. Then we went to the Old [...]
