Day 24: I Completed A Steve Miller Song

Now that we’ve driven through Tacoma, I’ve completed yet another song.
I went from Pheonix, Arizona all the way to Tacoma
Phelidelphia, Atlanta, L.A.,
Northern California….
We started off the day in Tillamook, OR at the world famous cheese factory. Part of an educational trip, I learned what a cheese curd is today. Then we drove to Astoria, Oregon that is. After a quick lunch at my fav joint, Subway, we drove into Washington state.
Did I mention my mom is obsessed with lighthouses? No, really. Obsessed. We took a detour so that we could see another lighthouse. Ugh, how many have we seen now? It was built in 189x, blah, blah, blah. Whatever. She enjoyed it and she’s been pantient while we’ve stopped for things I wanted to see.
Washington is pretty dismal. We made it to the Mt. St. Helen’s visitor center right before it closed, but it was too cloudy to see anything. Finally, we drove in to SeaTac (a town between Seattle and Tacoma,) got a hotel and called Matt.
Matt Ayer and I went to NYU together. He and his wife, Erika, now live in Seattle. Jack and I drove downtown to catch up. I never knew Seattle was such a mecca for freaks. I was very impressed. It made me feel more at home.
Funny what gets my attention, eh? Apparently Seattle just installed a slew of new public restrooms. They look very futuristic, almost like transporters or something. Matt had to experience this new addition to the city. The thing is completely automatic. It is self cleaning and even talks to you, however make sure you’ve completed your business in 15 mins or the doors are supposed to open automatically. That would suck, eh?
