How’s The Job Search Going?
You know, I get that question a lot. I’ve reach the conclusion that one of there things are happening in my life right now:
1. I am experiencing a nervous breakdown
2. I am going the a one-third life crisis (similar to a mid-life, but hits ya around 30)
3. I am handling things in stride
(In my opinion, these three things are so similar that it is hard to distinguish which is which.)
The search process itself is going very well. I continue to get great leads and so far, most everyone has been incredibly helpful. Actually, I think I may even be enjoying the process. Strange, huh? As a part of this, I have the chance to reconnect to old friends, some of which I’ve not spoken to in years. (On an aside, I am certainly meeting my goal of just getting away from the computer and out in front of people.)
Also, I have time to make new friends. As a New Yorker, I don’t generally reach out to people who I don’t know. (For those of you who live in New York, experience tells you that statistically speaking, such experiences generally end badly.) However, now I have the time and it has been fun. When else will I have the time to go and meet new folks, just because a mutual friend thinks we should meet? Ok, I just realized how much this sounds like a blind date. Whatever. I need work.
Anyway, I think this process will be over soon. That said, if you think there is someone connected to the music business who I should meet, please let me know. I promise not to bug the individual. In fact, most of the folks I’ve spoken with seem to enjoy taking a break for a minute and sharing their ideas and experiences.
