My Birthday/New Job Party
There was an amazing turnout to Friday night’s party. A rough estimate, I would say about 50 people showed up. Indeed, I felt loved. It was great to see folks representing so many different aspects of my life here in New York. I’m afraid, however, a few individuals felt a little isolated due to the number. Usually everyone bonds right away into one large table, but this time there were several smaller tables. I am afraid that those who came solo, felt a little out of place - like everyone else already knew each other. As the honoree and self-proclaimed social butterfly of the evening, I tried to introduce a few friends and assist in the intermingling. After I introduced my friend Michelle to my friend Nicole and they both reminded me that Nicole originally introduced me to Michelle months ago, I decided that maybe I should let nature take it’s course.
In a short recap, I was pleased to see that more than one set of my friends came together - one might even refer to them as “couples.” A handful of surprise guests stopped by. I didn’t notice any couples leaving together, who didn’t come together, but I am hoping for a good story later today.
Thank you everyone who stopped by.
PS I am very sad that I didn’t get a picture of everyone. Here are a few picts that I did get from the party.
