Hawaii Day #1: Waikiki Beach
Today we spent most of the day walking around. It was unintentional, actually. We got up pretty early, because our schedules are all messed up. Heidi wanted to see the beach, so we headed out just to see what Waikiki was all about. Once we started walking, we just kept going. We probably walked 3 miles each way. It was overcast and a little rainy, so we made several stops. I expected it to be really crowded, but it wasn’t bad at all - no worse that Jones Beach or TOBAY during the summer.
On the way out, we saw swimmers and places to take surf lessons. On the way back, we walked along one of the main drags where there have all types of shopping, ranging from Billabong to Cartier. We’re not big spenders, but it was interesting to see all the shops at one place.
Again, since our internal clocks are all messed up, we took a short nap that ended up taking like 4 hours. Then we walked in the opposite direction in search of dinner. Before we knew it, we’d seen almost all of Waikiki Beach. We ended up eating dinner at Senior Frogs. I don’t think that place could be any more cheesy, but I love going to that place.
