The Seaford Webcam is now fully functional. Joel turned me on to this live streaming service called Mogulus. Pretty darn neat. I even set up a streaming widget (below.)

Growing up, I was the man of the house and thus, all yard work fell under my domain. I hated mowing the yard (almost as much as I hated cleaning the gutters.) We had a big yard and we didn’t have riding mower. Also, we’d had a ton of trees cut out of the yard, [...] The in-law’s visited this weekend. They provided manual labor and some much needed TLC. (I’m not sure why I am so emotional about this whole house thing, but I’ve been kinda a wuss.) It is really amazing what 4 focused people can do. Here’s a short list of what we got done. Thank goodness for [...] I am now a home owner. We closed on the house yesterday. We move on Saturday. We’ll spend today cleaning, painting and packing at both places. Last night we rented a carpet cleaner from Home Depot. How domestic. I have a dr’s appoint me this morning. Something tells me the ol blood pressure is gonna [...] After looking at more than 100 houses, we are finally in contract on a house. Our closing date is expected to come in a few weeks. In order to set a close date, we have to secure the loan. In order to secure the loan, we have to get insurance. In order to get insurance, [...] Our apt building has been without hot water since Saturday. It will not be back on until Tuesday. (We were also without hot water Friday morning.) Annoying. We’ve been heating water on the stove in order to bathe in the tub. Today we use a gas stove. I don’t think I would have bathed if [...] Several people have asked me about the house situation. It looks like the house in Bethpage fell through. After the seller verbally accepted our offer, we secured a lawyer, engineer, inspector and lender. Everything was wham-bam for about a week and a half. Then we got word that he took another offer. We’re not really [...] After looking at 70+ houses over the last year, yesterday we found out that our bid has been accepted on a house on Long Island. In an unexpected rapid turn of events, the engineer was able to come within 24 hours. This morning we spent 3 hours walking around and through what looks like may [...] A somewhat energy-conscious individual, I turned off my air-conditioner before I headed out to the Island on Sunday. Needless to say, when I got home last night, my apartment was quite warm. I live on the top floor of my apartment building so even when it cools off outside, my apartment continues to bake (radiate/incubate) [...] I am home sick today. I left work early yesterday b/c I felt like crud. Kinda gross, but I sweated thru the night. Every time I take my temperature, it registers below normal. I am supposed to go to the dr later this afternoon. I don’t want to be really sick, but I hope there’s [...] |
