Last week I was without Internet service at home. It turns out that my line had been unplugged from the building’s service box. I have to assume this happened when one of the neighbors moved out. I would have written about the resolution earlier, but then my website went down. I’ve included the official notice [...] Yesterday my computer stopped working – it wouldn’t connect to the Internet. Thinking it was something I somehow caused, I spent more than a hour checking the computer’s settings, router and cable modem. Finally I got frustrated enough that I decided to take a break and turn on the TV for a few minutes. Then [...] For quite some time, I’ve had a theory on LinkedIn and why people use it. There’s a good [...] Heidi and I are North Carolina at the moment. My niece, Sheila, graduated from high school this week so we threw her a party last night. We had between 60-70 people at my sis’s house for food, drinks and entertainment. The entertainment consisted of a pinata, paint fight (for the kids) and tie-dying of t-shirts [...] Yesterday, when I was on my way home, I stopped by the drugstore and picked up some medicine for my throat. The cashier let me know that New York State Law states that you must be over the age of 18 to buy certain over-the-counter medicines. She had to log my ID in a notebook [...] I graduated this week. Though I finished classes six months ago, it was a very nice closure to the whole process. I am so happy to be done. My mom came for the festivities and brought a couple of family friends. Wednesday was the smaller ceremony for the graduate school of business. Heidi took [...] It is my birthday. I am 29. I don’t really feel any different. Today’s expected snow reminds me of a time when I was a little boy. My family was supposed to come over for a party, but it snowed so bad they couldn’t come. They called while we were setting up. I’d already placed [...] Tonight I went to this little Romanian steak house. For an expensive place, it sure was a dump. The food was good. And drinks were served from a block of ice. (Who wouldn’t love that???) The restaurant even had this old-man lounge singer. He wasn’t that great, either. (Wait, why’d I like this place?) Several [...] The strike’s not over. I could start on a rant about my feelings regarding the MTA and unionized labor, but I won’t. I’ll just say that I didn’t grow up in an area with unionized labor and I don’t understand it. I do understand how big business has been known to take advantage of Joe [...] Wow. I just finished my last final. I am at a loss for words. I still have a paper to write and group presentation to make, but I don’t expect either to be too incredibly difficult. Whew!
