I’ve Seen the Promised Land
Right now I am in the car, on my way to Intel. Please pardon any typos, the van is bouncing all over the place, so after staring at this screen for a minute I may have to stop and puke. Yes, I am sure you want that info.
Yesterday we went to Cupertino to 1 Infinite Loop. For all you techno-geeks out there, you know this is the cool gadget Mecca, Apple Computer HQ. We met with several folks there. They told us about what they do and demo’d some of Apple’s latest products. Unfortunately, they wouldn’t divulge any information about upcoming products. Man, that place was cool. It was surreal seeing so many young people, all carrying around Macs. I had to go back to the hotel and tell my baby computer that I loved her.
Yesterday afternoon we went to VISA. I found out that their tag line, “Everywhere you want to be,” is only used in the US. They use similar, but different phrases in other countries. I can’t imagine how the founders originally pitched their service, before anyone knew what they did. “So you are going to be able to buy things without money.”
