The Offer (A New Job!)
After several months of searching, it appears that I will soon come out of retirement and re-enter the American workforce. Last week I received a very attractive offer from the newly combined Sony BMG. Under the arrangement, I will oversee all online marketing for Legacy Recordings. In return, I will dedicate countless long hours pimpin’ Sony BMG catalog for The Man. I am scheduled to start 1 week from today.
Quirky banter aside, I am very excited about this opportunity. From what I’ve gathered from my friends in the biz, it sounds like I will be a member of a quality team. These folks work hard and enjoy what they do. Since I’ve been close on several other positions during this whole process, I was a little hesitant to tell everyone right away, but since the written offer came in the mail on Friday and again, I am scheduled to start next week, I think it is now ok to share.
Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive during this time. I have chosen to postpone any celebratory gatherings until I get that 1st paycheck. Considering my bday is right around the corner, I’ll probably have some type of combo social festivity. Details forthcoming.
