When and Where: The Metric System

Between using Km instead of miles and military time instead of two 12 hour periods, I’ve given up asking “How much further?” and “When will we be there?” I barely even know what day it is because they put the day before the month when writing the day. Oh. And you can forget about knowing the temperature.

    Thomas:

It is customary in the military to indicate today’s date as 20 APR 06, making it unambiguous. the 24-hour format makes more sense than the 12-hour format favored by US civilians. Metric is the world standard. For some reason, the USA, the richest nation, is lagging behind the rest of the world

About Sam Gomez

This is my lil' workshop on the web. I created it to let my friends and family know what's going on with me. It quickly became a place for me to rant about my feelings and publicly humiliate myself - not that I needed yet another medium. Generally, I just share whatever is on my mind (stories, photos, etc.) Read the full about me.
