Mowing the Lawn
Growing up, I was the man of the house and thus, all yard work fell under my domain. I hated mowing the yard (almost as much as I hated cleaning the gutters.) We had a big yard and we didn’t have riding mower. Also, we’d had a ton of trees cut out of the yard, so I had to be extra careful not to hit any above ground roots or stumps. I felt like something always happened when I mowed the yard. Either I’d hit a big rock, almost step on a snake, run over a bee’s nest - these things happen when you live in the country.
Now, 13 years later, I am back to mowing the yard. Strangely, I don’t mind it so much now. I am not going so far as to say that I now enjoy yard work, but it is not that bad anymore. This probably has something to do with the fact that it only takes me 15-20 minutes to mow my entire yard - 30 minutes, if you include gassing up and weed eating.
