Day 34: On The Way Home

While I thought it was just going to be another day of driving through the pouring rain, mother nature took it easy on us until later in the afternoon and we had another really nice drive. It was pretty uneventful for the most part. We didn’t even stop as we drove through St. Louis because of the impending bad weather.
However, as we were driving down the interstate, we noticed a number of people standing on each overpass as we drove by. A little spooked by this week’s news story about a driver getting kill after being hit by a rock which was thrown off an overpass (in that exact area,) we paid very close attention to these individuals. They looked like motorcyclist and many had POW/MIA banners. Since we saw several motorcycles while we were stopped for lunch, we decided to pull off the interstate for a minute and see if they passed. Indeed, a group of 150-200 bikers was less than 3 minutes behind us. Again, I waved like an idiot and snapped a few of photos from the overpass.
Tonight we’re near Lexington, KY. There’s lots of lightning again tonight.
