I Love Butch Walker
I love Butch Walker. I love Butch Walker. I love Butch Walker. I. Love. Butch. Walker.
Obviously, I went to see Butch Walker tonight. He’s on tour now with American Hi-Fi and some other guy named Val Emmich. (Val, buddy, you gotta work on your show. Bor-ring!) American Hi-Fi came out and put on a pretty good show. They played some songs from both records including their catchy “Flavor of the Weak” and even some songs from the new (Butch Walker produced) album due out later this year. BTW, American Hi-Fi’s new drummer kicks ass - he’s a total rocker. Then Butch came out and played a few tunes with the AMF guys.
After AMF finished playing, Stacy went back behind the drums and the band played backup for Butch. The show was nothing short of amazing. Old, new, piano, guitar, Butch tore it up. I thought I might even shed a tear when the band left the stage and Butch played and sang “Joan” while seated at the keyboard.
When Butch’s set ended, I guess he went back stage and did a quick line of coke because he came back out with even more energy, playing some old Marv3 classics. The show ended by Butch actually unplugging his acoustic guitar and playing on stage, completely un-mic’d.
The crowd was mesmerized. Then he actually jumped off the stage and went into the crowd, still playing and singing as the crowd parted ways for him to walk through. Finally, as if the show couldn’t have gotten any better, he sat down in the middle of the room. The crowd knelt as Butch continued to play and sing as if he were sitting around a campfire with among his closest friends.
Thank you, Butch.
If you don’t know him, check out Butch Walker’s official site and pre-order Butch’s new album, Letters.

Awesome! I was considering making the drive to see a Butch Walker show, and was just searching for blogs that made mention of seeing him. Sounds like it would be well worth the 2 hour drive. Thanks!
