Sam Vs. The Heat: Heat 1-Sam 0
A somewhat energy-conscious individual, I turned off my air-conditioner before I headed out to the Island on Sunday. Needless to say, when I got home last night, my apartment was quite warm. I live on the top floor of my apartment building so even when it cools off outside, my apartment continues to bake (radiate/incubate) from approximately 10 PM - 2 AM.
Last night I closed the doors, turned on the AC, took a cool shower and drank some ice water before I went to bed. By 2 AM I was so tired and dehydrated that I woke and opened up the window in a delirious state, thinking it must be cooler outside. No dice. I ended up setting the alarm on my phone and sleeping on the couch in front of the big AC in the living room.
It was still unbearably hot and then my phone alarm didn’t go off (or perhaps I had it set to vibrate.)
This led to unrested and cranky Sam today.

Holy cow! What in the world? I never would have thought about that happening to him.
Also, is he really only 34?? Wouldn’t that have made him like 23 when we were there? That has to be a typo…
