Sherika And Jose’s Wedding
Last night was Sherika and Jose’s wedding. I never thought I would say this about a wedding, but it was great! They were possibly the happiest couple I’ve ever seen. This makes the second wedding in a row where I met the groom in the bathroom before the wedding.
Since it was raining, they had to move everything inside at the last minute. Jose met several guests as they entered the building. The ceremony started a little late, but once everyone was seated, Jose then (emotionally) thanked everyone for coming. It was a very nice touch.
The ceremony went well, however, I think the minister was either a little senile or had been hittin’ the bottle beforehand. He was shooting from the hip and hamming it up for the crowd. Alicia said he was much better behaved during the rehearsal. Still, it was very nice and the wedding party looked great.
Afterwards, they had plenty to drink and eat. They even had a DJ and Salsa band. It was great to see old friends - some I hadn’t seen since college! (Did I really have this much fun at a wedding???) I got to speak to Sherika’s parents, who I always thought a lot of. They seemed genuinely happy to see me, too. Without getting too touchy feely, I hope the guests at my wedding have as much fun as I did last night.
