Flying Standby
Flying standby certainly has its disadvantages. For example, you could make plans to go somewhere at the last minute, but if other individuals wait to buy tickets at the last second, you could still very well be S.O.L.
As we were walking out the door yesterday, headed to the airport, Michael called and said both remaining flights to Puerto Rico had sold out at the last minute. There was still a chance we’d make it on the 2nd flight, but there was a list of people in front of us on the first flight. Nonetheless, we rushed off to the airport thinking there was no way everyone would show up - after all, that’s why most major airlines overbook. Unfortunately, the first flight was full and sadly, they only let one stand by passenger on the second flight. So, Jaesan and I spent Friday night hanging out at the airport.
