Daniel is 30

Last night was our dear friend Danny’s 30th birthday party. For some reason, the closer I get to 30, the younger it seems. In fact, I recently heard that 30s are the new 20s. I think I shall subscribe to this doctrine. 30 really doesn’t sound old to me anymore.
The party was great. Danny had a very nice turn out. His parents even showed up later in the evening.
My favorite story from the night was from near the end of the party. I saw Danny leaning on the bar, obviously struggling to stand. He appeared to be talking on his cell phone. From 15 feet away, I decided to call him from my cell. He looked at his phone. Confused by the idea that there could actually be 2 phone calls at the same time, he hung up on the first person and clumsily stuck his phone in his pocket.
