Am I Old? Sometimes.

I used to think Monday’s were my longest day, because normally I get slammed with so much work and then I have to sit in class until 9 PM. By the time I get home on Monday nights, I feel like I’ve already pulled a full week. Last Monday felt particularly long and I felt particularly old. In fact, earlier in the day I had talked to my friend Jen about this band I’d just heard about. She said that they played from time to time at SOBs. I started moaned and groaned about how all SOB’s shows were mid-week and didn’t start until like 1 AM. She agreed with me when I said that I thought I sounded old.

Funny how things work out. I came back with a vengeance!

Tuesday night after work, I went to a show for one of our bands, down at the Bowery Ballroom. Then I stayed for the after party. (Mind you, I’ve worked at Legacy for 5 months now and this is really the first time everyone from work has gone out together.) After the post-party, the Queens crew got a cab got a cab together. Not ready to call it a night, one of the product managers and I stopped by Columbian Hooters for a few minutes. I ended up getting home at like 3:30.

Wednesday I went to work. Then I went to class. Since everyone was out so late the night before, I ended up scoring a last minute ticket to see The Dead 60s and The Bravery at Webster Hall. On the way there, I ran into some old college buds. They asked me to join them, but I kinda felt like I should check out the show since I’d requested a ticket. The Bravery were pretty good and I ended up running into someone I knew. After we left the show, I decided I’d give the college buds a shout on the cell to see if they were still around. They were and so I went to meet them. I got home Tuesday night at like 2:30.

On Thursday evening I taught a class at Fordham. After class I had dinner with my friend, Rich Bengloff. Then I met up with Heidi and her crew to watch the Yankees vs. Red Sox. I got home at like 12:30

Normally, you’d think I’d be about ready to pass out by Friday afternoon, but I think hanging out with friends in the City actually gave me more energy. This ever happen to anyone?

About Sam Gomez

This is my lil' workshop on the web. I created it to let my friends and family know what's going on with me. It quickly became a place for me to rant about my feelings and publicly humiliate myself - not that I needed yet another medium. Generally, I just share whatever is on my mind (stories, photos, etc.) Read the full about me.
