Homework Break Before I Start
Eh, while I am writing, I guess I should do a full update before I start my homework.
I started back to class last week. I think this may be the 1st time I am actually excited about starting class. Why? It is my last semester! Man, that feels good. Actually, after 3.5 years, I think this was the first time I was able to participate intelligently with the rest of the class. This particular class was on digital music. I think all my classmates hate me now. It felt good.
Work is continuing full speed ahead. My assistant started this week. She seems pretty smart and on the ball. Of course, even if she weren’t, I couldn’t say so because she probably reads this everyday. It took til the end of the week to get her a phone. She still doesn’t have a computer, so she’s using my personal laptop. I am still looking for a content manager. I hope to fill that position in the next couple of days. There are a couple of other new folks at work, who are supposed to help me. They don’t report to me, but we have a lot of interaction and things are really looking up. Peter works across the street with the Global Digital Business Group. He’s helping develop new digital catalog products. Al Q will help, from and A&R standpoint, examine the archives and figure out what we should release digitally. This is really one of the cooler aspects of my job. Currently, we’re planning to release a good number of tracks/albums which are not available on CD. This could be stuff that’s out of print or just stuff that’s never been commercially available. Pretty exciting.
The class reunion is coming along, too. The Forbush Class of 1995 website is what it is at this point. I think most of the correspondence will go through our Yahoo! Group. This is pretty cool because it allows everyone to maintain his/her own profile as well as interact with one another. I’ve been chatting with a ton of folks. I’d love to be able to call everyone, but it is simply not possible. More to come on this, I’m sure.
Back to homework.
