After taking a quick nap, we put on our bathing suits and headed to Hanuama Bay to go snorkeling. Hanuama Bay is probably best known for Elvis’s movie, Blue Hawaii. From what I understand, the bay is now where a volcano once stood. As time passed and the waves wore away one of the sides and the Bay took its place. The coral in the bay is home to a significant number of fish species. You have to be careful not to step on the coral, as it will kill it and thus, the fish will have less to eat.
Before I left New York, Jack was nice enough to let me borrow his camera. I was able to pick up a waterproof case which allowed me to take digital pictures under water. It is pretty freakin cool.
